Armed robbers attacks Zainab of BBA fame

On a broad day light between the hours of 3pm, Zainab was attacked by two gangs in an isolated Island in Sierra Leone. The model went in search of locations prior to her movie production. The gangs scared her with a gun and machete and successfully made away with all her gadgets (Blackberry Porche, Ipad 3, 5D camera and an Apple Laptop) and €850 Euros. The now producer begged for a division of the money and her SIM card but the robbers ignorantly, insulted her late mother who died of cancer. At the mention of her mom, Zainab became furious. She quickly entered into her pink Hammer 3 Jeep and followed the gangs on a motor bike but they went through a bush and left no trace. For those who don’t know Zainab, she’s very tolerant and down to earth but woe to the one who insults her mother. Hope you haven’t forgotten that a similar thing happened leading to her exit from the Big Brother House last year.

TIME Icon and actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde said in a recent interview with Encomium, that she inherited her physical endowment from her mother and how it’s been a struggle for her to stay slim as her job requires

Omotola: There is no major secret. That’s the truth. Most of them were inherited. I inherited the good stuff, so also the bad one. If you see my mom’s picture, she actually looked like a young girl. Till she passed on, we used to call her forever young, even before that song came out. My mom had a teenager look, even when she was almost 50. She was a very hippy and curvy woman. That, she passed on to me with vengeance. That’s why it has been a very big struggle for me to stay as slim as my job requires. But people are saying you had done an implant that perhaps brought out you hips Omotola: I have also heard that but there is nothing like that. I have never done any surgery or implant. It’s just me being extremely careful and conscious of my body, job and everything. Naturally, as a human being, sometimes i get it perfectly right, sometimes, the body just does what it wants to do. I just keep trying.

Over 40 Killed in Renewed Nasarawa Attack

Over 40 people have been killed in Rukubi, Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, by men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen. Community leaders who conducted the Deputy Governor, Mr. Dameshi Barau Luka, round the crisis-hit area, said the people were killed when the herdsmen invaded the community on Wednesday night in a raid in which over 35 houses and four cars belonging to the Agatu people of the area were also torched. More bodies were being recovered when the deputy governor led a delegation of members of the State Security Council on an on-the-spot assessment of the extent of the damage. The spokesman of the development area, Mustapha Danladi Ayaga, who was part of the team that conducted the delegation round the community, told them that the gunmen invaded the community and went after selected houses belonging to the Agatu people. He said the death toll might be higher as the search for bodies and missing persons was still ongoing. Ayaga said the gunmen, dressed in riot police uniform and armed with sophisticated weapons, including AK47 and explosives, also abducted two members of the community. “Over 500 militants dressed in riot police uniforms and heavily armed with sophisticated weapons ranging from AK47 guns, sub-machine guns and explosives, shot sporadically as they were strategically positioned round the village to ensure that all inhabitants of the locality were consumed”, he said.

Boko Haram Recruiter Arrested In Maiduguri

The Nigerian military said on Wednesday that it has dislodged all the terrorist camps operated by the Boko Haram in some areas of Yobe State and arrested 49 members of the sect in various operations in the state. The military also said many Boko Haram members were fleeing to neighbouring Niger Republic through Nigeria’s porous borders. The interior ministry had said in May that Nigeria had about 1,500 illegal borders that are poorly manned. In a statement by the Director of Defence Information, Chris Olukolade, the military said the suspects were arrested in various locations in the state by the Joint Task Force following a tip off by some locals. Various weapons including AK 47rifles, locally made pistols, and ammunition were recovered by the troops during the operation in Rugan Fulani, Arikime, Afghanistan and Ngandu villages. The JTF team led by B.E. Inyang said all terrorist camps had been dislodged while some of the terrorists fled towards Niger Republic. It, however, said some criminals still terrorise the state under the guise of Boko Haram. “The DHQ team was also informed of a trend whereby some particular crimes have now taken the place of terrorism as the criminals now resort to brigandage, robbery and attempted assassination of business rivals,” Mr. Olukolade said Mr. Olukolade assured residents of Yobe of safety of lives and property and encouraged citizens with vital information to provide the soldiers with them as they rid the state of the insurgents. Success in Borno too Mr. Olukolade also said a key terrorist who specializes in recruiting young men into the Boko Haram has been apprehended by troops in Maiduguri following a tip off. He said the suspect, who allegedly also watches over the insurgents’ armoury, was arrested in one of the cordon and search operations by the Special Forces. The soldiers also arrested another group of 5 insurgents, all from Niger Republic. They were arrested when troops stormed their hideout at Mallam Fatori as they attempted to escape in two Toyota Cruiser Jeeps, Mr. Olukolade said. He said the soldiers have continued to patrol the notorious Sambisa forest and are also cordoning the Alou forest and Gwoza Hills. “More abandoned vehicles, weapons and other items are being recovered in the camps of the insurgents,” he said. He listed some of the recovered arms as rifles, double barrel guns, various charms and amulets, machine guns, as well as pairs of camouflage uniforms, bows and quiver and assorted rifle magazine. Others are handset, walkie talkie, car number plates and some food items. “Abandoned vehicles recovered include a Golf Car, a Honda, Customs Pickup Van, Honda (2003 Model) and a Volkswagen Monte Carlo,” the military spokesman said. Mr. Olukolade said police stations are now being reopened in some parts of Borno State. “At Kirenowa, detachments of Police Anti-Terrorist unit have been deployed to complement security in the area,” he said. The spokesman said the defence headquarters had organised a tour of the operational areas of the JTF for selected local and foreign Journalists. He said the tour is to ensure that “the media have a first-hand information on the situation in the operational areas.” The federal government officially declared the Boko Haram as terrorists on tuesday.
